The Council and Clergy of Deep River Community Church provide Christian Outreach to the people of Deep River and Area who are not members or adherents of Community Church.
The sacrament of Baptism will be performed when our Clergy deem it meaningful to the parents. Baptisms normally take place in the Church during the morning worship service.
Our Clergy will perform this ceremony for any couple who desires a Christian celebration of their marriage. The ceremony may be held in the Church or in a home or garden as agreed by the couple and the Clergy. It is only required that the couple wish to be married before God. Our clergy do not do civil ceremonies in the Church.
Marriage and Crisis Counselling
These faith based counselling services are provided by our full-time Clergy to any member of the community who requests them.
Funeral and Memorial Services
The policy of Community Church Council is that our Clergy will conduct a funeral or a memorial service upon request of the family. It can be held either in the Church or at the funeral home or as agreed by the clergy and family. In addition, support and counselling will be provided to the family if desired.
Annual Charity Events:
Food Bank Sunday
(formerly White Gift Sunday)
Food Bank Sunday is normally held at Community Church one of the Sundays leading up to Christmas. The service is lead by the Leaders of Kid’s Church and the children are very involved in the programme.
Instead of the usual Sunday church offering, attendees bring gifts of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank, traditionally wrapped in white paper. Gifts of money are also very welcome and are given either to the Food Bank or to the North Renfrew Family Services Bureau, depending on the need.
Operation Christmas Child
Christmas Gift Bags
Starting in 2018, Deep River Community Church is sending Christmas Gift Bags to Bernadette McCann House for both children and adults.
